As Seen at HRT

Thanks to all of you who attended today's Hospitality Round Table, featuring the chamber's President/CEO Jim Hizer. Our next meeting will be Feb.15 at the National Naval Aviation Museum.

In the Press

  1. The “What’s New Spring” news release went out to our list of 500 travel writers nationwide. Congratulations to our new businesses, and thank you to those who shared your travel specials with us.
  2. A writer from Southern Living was in town last week for an article about the Gulf Coast for their June issue. While in town, she explored Navarre, Pensacola Beach, Downtown Pensacola and the National Naval Aviation Museum.
  3. Laura Lee will be in Atlanta in February for a VISIT FLORIDA media trip. Laura will meet with more than a dozen travel writers to tell the story of the Pensacola Bay Area.
  4. Visit Pensacola is still working to combat the negative press following the oil spill. In October, November and December, more than 1,400 articles ran about the Gulf Coast oil spill.

Leslie Mathews has been working on projects to assist meeting planners in learning more about our area properties.

  1. If you have any meeting space specials for fall (secret season), let us know NOW so we can start promoting it in marketing materials and at tradeshows.
  2. Stay tuned for a Survey Monkey to help us gather more information about your property’s amenities.
  3. Please review and return your meeting space templates with any needed revisions so we can create an accurate meeting capacity chart for our area.
