HRT: Save the Date Tuesday, July 19 – University of West Florida featuring Dr. Judy Bense Tuesday, August 16 – Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front featuring Buck Lee, SRIA Lodging Revenues Are Up Escambia County outpaces Northwest Florida in lodging revenue from September through March. This momentum is sure to continue into the summer, making 2011 a record year for tourism. Visit Pensacola has received more than $4 million from BP to market the area, which is more than twice its typical annual budget. This additional revenue has allowed Visit Pensacola to employ new marketing tactics in new markets, reaching more visitors than ever before. These efforts are paying off, as lodging revenues are up nearly 20 percent over last year's pre-oil spill numbers. ![]() |
Website / FacebookMay was the anniversary launch of our new web redesign. Comparing site traffic to last year, we’ve seen an increase of 35 percent. In addition to successful growth in site visitation, we’ve also seen a tremendous jump in our current Facebook count, going from 2,032 likes in May 2010 to more than 13,000 today. Our Facebook presence has proved to be a valuable source for referring traffic sites, landing in the number three spot. To see what our fans are saying, visit our Facebook page Tradeshow SeasonAs Lori Coppels gears up for tradeshow season, she would like to invite partners interested in having a presence at shows such as American Bus Association, National Tour Association, Student & Youth Travel and the Ontario Motorcoach Association to contact her to discuss ways you can work together. All of these organizations are seeking donations for silent auctions and other sponsorships. We hope we can work together to promote the Pensacola Bay Area.
Loyal VisitorsDoes your property have a guest you welcome year after year that might provide a testimonial for Visit Pensacola? We'd love to include them on our Web site, blogs and even share their contact information with travel writers. Please e-mail Laura Lee. |

Wish the Pensacola Celebrity Chefs luck as they head to the James Beard House on June 28. The event is sold out with New York “foodies,” economic development site selectors, travel media and even Pensacolians who are making the trip.
